THE ILLUSTRATED MAN Unleashes ‘The Heart of Fire’ with Robert Owens

THE ILLUSTRATED MAN returns with ‘The Heart of Fire’, a new single featuring Robert Owens, released this past weekend on ILINX Records. The track is the second preview from his debut album, The Skin Of Time, out June 12. Originally from Yerevan, Armenia and now based in Dubai, THE ILLUSTRATED MAN has quickly become a distinctive force in electronic music, earning support from Adriatique, Bedouin, Township Rebellion, Richie Hawtin and Joris Voorn. His productions have reached BBC Radio 1 and Ibiza Global Radio, reflecting a growing international profile. Inspired by Ray Bradbury’s novel, he approaches each track as a layered narrative, built with tension and emotion, always pushing toward new territory.

The Heart of Fire’ starts with strong percussion that supports Robert Owens’ powerful and passionate vocals. The track stands out by moving into a more immersive, groove-focused sound, drawing on the energy of classic Chicago house but adding a modern touch. Its warm, rhythmic base slowly builds, layering deep grooves that get people moving before breaking into acid-inspired energy. As the second single from THE ILLUSTRATED MAN’s upcoming debut album, The Skin of Time, it creates a house vibe that mixes peak-time energy with a haunting, atmospheric feel. Early listeners have called it a hypnotic highlight or a “killer cut” that fits easily into tougher DJ sets, connecting new ideas with the raw style of pioneers like Phuture and 808 State.

Robert Owens, an Ohio native and key figure in late 1980s Chicago house, brings his legacy to the collaboration. Since moving to London in 1993, he has continued to shape the genre, running his own label and releasing a steady stream of influential records.

THE ILLUSTRATED MAN shared: “‘The Heart of Fire’, the second single taken from my upcoming album, unveils a completely different sonic direction, diving deep into an infectious and captivating house atmosphere.”
