not what i call bonk wave #003

Prepare to be Bonked.

The Bonk Wave crew have been at it again, and compiled a massive Not What I Call Bonk Wave Volume #003. Submissions were open over the summer, and this resulted in so many artists sending in submissions that this volume is going to be spread over 3 separate releases, with a total of 43 tracks. Wow.
So, if you like a wide range of indie music from (mostly) Fediverse artists, stretching all over the place style-wise, this is something for you.

The theme for this release was Bonked/Unbonked, with Unbonked being whatever you think doesn’t Bonk enough to be on a Bonk Knob Records compilation. The idea was to increase the diversity from mostly electronic music, and allow more various styles to enter the Bonkiverse. And it worked. There are some quite different things on there, and they are all great.

If you feel like joining in for a future release, head over to the community board at bonkwave.org/board and say hi. We’ll announce the upcoming releases for 2025 there, so you can give it a go. It’s a fun and welcoming bunch, and it’s great to see people come together and contribute their skills to get a release finished and ready for publishing.

Here’s part A for starters, the other parts will be releases soon, with a few weeks in-between, so keep an eye on the Faircamp or Bandcamp site, or watch the #BonkWave tag on the Fediverse.

PS: More free Bonk Wave music here and here.
