"if it aint broke, dont fix it"... Maybe this is progress for the sake of progress but we are trying to personalize it to LiteRecords.

Subject to results, there will be an option to choose which style you prefer in the footer. We will be introducing default avatars for new users (choice of 4 or 5), unfortunately current members without avatars i cant do much for but suggest they create/choose an avatar. At least you like the profile overview, thanks for your input Mr Critic :p

I do get what you are saying as it appears "cramped", but that's perceptional... "cramped", "compact". I want to save space and use every area as valuably as possible.

My point is just that 'what do we gain by having the site vertically compressed?' We didn't add any new subforums with the space we gained. I don't think a forum needs to be compacted, after all, there is a lot of content and people will scroll down regardless. It's not like we are Google and trying to have the most minimal site. I think the priority of design > space compaction was good on the previous layout.

Also, the 'recent post bar' on the right-side of the site was really nice.

Regardless, the fact that everyone feels strongly one way or the other shows how much we all like the site and consider it part of our own.

No problem Mr Big Boss :) Even if I sound like a querulous prick, I still love LR and the site doesn't look bad now but I just prefered the old style. Thanks for being open to criticism.

I really like the make people read the rules bit!!!!

When I searched on google the other day I wasnt getting the forum page but the rules instead.Like every time! Was that your doing Brad or was something weird happening to me again!!!! I thought it was cool though.Like you had enforced them on people!!
