Anyone give me tips to make a nice funk guitar riff? VSTs or tricks to do so? I've been itching to start throwing something like that into some tracks.

tried real guitar ? It does work for me sometime. But its really difficult to do it without the actual instrument. I end up using samples mostly.

Native instruments' Funk guitarist is phenomenal. and it's only 99 bucks. it's really woth the price, i've tried it.

like kantinenchef said ... try NI's Funk Guitarist ... not tried yet, but the preview vids are awesome ... give it a try and the price is awesome, too ... or book nile rodgers for a studio jam, but I think Funk Guitarist is much more cheaper :D

Couldn't you post a video of you making the riff you want with your voice then a member who can play an instrument record it for you or make a midi track then give it to you.

If you want to play decent funk guitar, then be prepared to buy a wah-wah pedal or two, and spend a looooong time practicing, it's not something you'll be able to learn quickly.
