OK, sorry about this, I must have missed something obvious.

When I select the link to a file and click on the "hide tags around selected tetx icon icon", I get this sign, not a this one

So, what am I doing wrong? All the links I´ve shared have this issue.:y

Rather than that, do it manually, the codes should look something like this:
(Change any < or > to [ and ] respectively)
http://www.link.com/randomtexthere.extension
And that should ​make it work.

Hide tags will show as 'Content Open' to the OP; so anything that you put in hide tags will show as 'open' because you are the threadstarter. You don't have to post a thanks comment in order to view your own links, therefore, your own links aren't hidden from you.

If you ever need to check to see whether your hide tags are working, just sign out of your account and then look at your thread. By being signed out, the content should be 'hidden'.
