I had a similar problem a couple of times over the past year or so.
It turned out that my ISP had partially blocked every site on which allowed file sharing. Mediafire actually stated in their help pages that this was beyond their control and users should contact their ISPs.
I did a bit of googling and there were tons of posts on various sites from people who were having the same issue.
After a few days, I had full access again.
It happened again a few months ago, then cleared it's self again within about a week.
It's bloody annoying (particularly if you're paying for a 'pro' account with Mediafire).
I saw people mentioning that they could get round it using a proxy server (?!), but I'm not so good on computers that I would know how to do this!!
It might be worth contacting your ISP just to be sure in case it's something else that's causing it though. From what I can gather, if they are blocking Mediafire, they would be able to talk you through changing some settings to allow you to access it again (just say you NEED to be able to access it for work purposes!)

thanks for your reply..I disguise the file name and always use winrar
even if it's just one mp3...I've even tried using a code system using
numbers for the title but mediafire still hangs at the end of the upload.
