    Key & BPM detection software.

Anyone know of any free software that detects key and bpm. I've tried Rapid Evolution but for some reason it won't work properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

MixMeister do a free BPM analyser, as for key detection there is Mixed In Key which is very popular (also does BPM detection), although not free - but I'm sure you could find a cracked version somewhere ;)

However these aren't 100% accurate, more like 80% accurate, might be better off finding the key of songs manually - entirely up to you though.

BPMer is quite good, exports the BPM's to iTunes aswell which is nice.

I use VirtualDJ... tells you key and BPM... and it's free. I don't know how well it is with keys though... the original and the instrumental register as half-an-octave apart....

I'm guessing maybe cause the original has vocals in it? I'm not a wiz on this but just sayin'.

Cheers. Will check those out for sure. Virtual DJ sounds like it may be just what I'm looking for.

Mixed in Key is really accurate and uses the Camelot Wheel system which makes it really quick to work out what tracks will work together harmonically.
