This probably seems like a question with an 'obvious' answer, but I'd like someone to be specifically clear about this:

If a song has no vocal track, could the full song be uploaded as an 'instrumental?'

I ask only because I have found some instrumental music which I think could be useful for remixing/mashups, but is itself instrumental, so it would mean uploading just the track as is.
If not, is there any place for such songs on this site?

thats a good question tbh with you, officially i would await brad(site owner, CEO bitch) to give his verdict but if it was labelled as an instrumental rather than a final song/release it shouldnt raise any eyebrows... but as i said i would wait brad to give clarification

It is a good question however, with it being the full song I'd expect there would be issues with DMCA etc. Not entirely sure, so better off waiting for the boss :)

Yes unfortunately the moderators are right. We dont supply/support original tracks (full released versions) on LR. Mainly because these files would be available on such stores as iTunes. We supply acapellas, instrumentals & stems because they arnt released on the CD. It wouldnt be classed as an instrumental because it never had an acapella.

what if such an album wasn't available on iTunes or any other store? for example, I was privately queried about Diablo 3's Collector's Edition OST that certainly ain't available elsewhere.

Its still finished, original work. I dont want to turn LR into an MP3 download pool.
