My First Remix/Remake. Not sure what to call it. Rate please

Whats up guys. It may seem strange but I have never really remixed anything or anything along those lines. I decided since I am a moderator I should at least give it a shot. What came out is not exactly the greatest thing in the world but it's a start. Leave a rating guys and tell me where i can improve. Thanx.

Not bad for a first effort and yo i fixed the soundcloud tag for you.

    Couple things.

The kick should be driving the song way more.

Sounds like you have some funky master compressor going on cuz the whole track is pumping. When the vocals or kick fall out, the whole track pumps. (0:54 - 1:08) Notice how when the vocals go out the beat gets really loud.

Vocals shouldn't be compressed on the same track as the beat or the "air" won't be right.

I liked the composition perfectly fine, just need to work on your production.

All in all, pretty impressive for a first ever.
all we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us

im gonna side with beats its not compressed right and the kick does need to come thru a bit more the percussion is fine on the hat but weres the clap :( keeps the tempo goin try a few drops on the beat to give it more oomph like uve done at around 2:20 but again for a 1st effort mate nicely

    is this the first remake?
    seems not so.
you should use a other kick, it sounds like the "pounchy" kick from fruity loops
modificate him with multiband or other plugins
rest is awesome for the 1. time

For a 1st attempt this this is truly brilliant!
I think all the feedback u got already is good advice, especially the kick drum.

To get that 'pumpy' compression sound on only the tracks/ instruments you want search Youtube for 'sidechain compression'
(which u may have already used in this?)
And you might like to play with some 'hoovers'... search Youtube for 'white noise effect'

And dont be scared to sidechain compress your white noise build ups ;)

I would say these 2 effects are your fundamental building blocks for todays music.

My rating taking into account its a 1st attempt is 10/10!!
