    VirtualDJ 2021 - real-time stem separation!

    Take a look:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmVBJJjUp6c

This looks pretty promising to me. Sure, the sound quality isn't as good as I'd like it to be, but this is definitely a move in a good direction. Here's hoping that labels will feel stimulated to sell more multis now that separation is becoming easier and easier. With all the other tools that are being developed (especially with AI), I hope we'll be able to achieve some very useful stem separation in a couple of years from now. Fingers crossed!

Wow that is impressive! I wouldn't have thought Atomix would have been the one to make such a big breakthrough. All them years of criticising VDJ users may have to stop from next year lol!

OOOO so they've scrapped the whole 1 hour trial thing too! If this goes ahead i can honestly see this becoming a leader.
Industry standards have always favoured Traktor and Serato with it's colourful waves and prestigious name.

It could just be the video but I don't feel that is near as good as the Google Colab or installable Python A.I. method we have already.
What is available to us now is even better than Spleeter. Spleeter outputs a degraded quality of your track while the A.I. we have maintains a 1411Khz. Spleeter outputs files to 11Khz I beleive.

Yeah I absolutely hate that. The spectrogram of Spleeter's output is even worse than a youtube rip's.

What is Google Colab? I'm curious as to why Phonicmind seems to do a slightly better job making acapellas than the other free online services like melody.nl, acapella extractor which I thought all use the same A.I. engine?

The difference being for DJ's you can mashup/bootleg on-the-fly with VDJ without having to have the instru/pella file created. I think it's a great feature if they're able to make it stable.
