Ever used two versions of a song to make a new version and/ or a remix?

I've been wondering if anyone has used an original multitrack of a song and a cover to make a new/ better version?

Yes, sometimes the MTs (or version 1 of a song) miss material , so i may use another MT or another version.

@Gaz that's one of my favourite tracks of ALL TIME!

btw, i use multiple versions of the same tracks quite a fair bit while DJing. It's always nice to have the build-up that everyone knows but then drop with a different twist, keep em' guessing ;)

My favorite example of using two different versions of the same song is from Edan's "I See Colours". It's so twisted and fun...
