I'm new to this forum/community and was wondering if any of you had a preference to a certain FREE VST and why. We're always looking for new things to play with and experiment with. So if you have any suggestions, please drop one below.

TAL for the win! I also use KarmaFX Filter a fair bit, it's nothing fancy but if you're after basic filtering functions it sounds immense!

I like CamelCrusher a lot! It's pretty darn good for a free plugin.

    i can recommend:

Adern KickMe! Too (kick synth like bazzism but free)

http://illformed.org/ free vst pack (glitch 1.3 is an efx like effectrix but free and there is a very nice timestrech in it and more) - i very much like glitch
www.smartelectronix.com - a very rich source of nice free vst's. i very much use: bouncy, dfx buffer override, dfx transverb, live cut, supatrigga. this is so experimental, you'll get for sure effects out of it that you havent aimed for xD always good for suprises.

also very nice, steinberg released their vst classics for free here:
    http://www.steinberg.net/de/support/...ics_vol_1.html
    http://www.steinberg.net/de/support/...ics_vol_2.html

i still very much like the old vb1 for bass, it never gets old ;D

Synthmaster is my go to synth. The engine in it is very powerful. It's run by a small operation and has constent new updates and soundpacks. They actually release new presets that mimic the exact sound of whatever producer used. It's really great because you can learn and deconstruct how someone gets a certain sound. If you produce dance music, it is MUST to have this.

I prefer to work with only a small ammount of synths because too many creates a mess.

Try the demo but honestly it's worth it to just buy the entire pack. There running a promotion all the time.

    Enjoy!
