funny you should reply to this thread.

Mine broke yesterday, retailer replaced it free of charge.

    quote from Nintendo

"Im sorry sir but unless you unlinked your nintendo account from your old system you cannot pair it with the new one,but you can use the same email address to make a new one (yeh fat lot of good that does me,now Ive lost all my online stats on games wtf....) also we are sorry sir but we cannot transfer any of your purchaces from the eshop to your new console,my advice would be take your new console back, get the broken one send it to us to fix and we will get you your data back.Thats the only way you won't lose out on your purchaces"

    Ermmmmmm

let me think about that now.....

    NOPE

Make sure you do not ever buy anything from the nintendo ehop. Its as well I only bought one game, and learn psychic abilities so you know to unlink your nintendo network Id off the soon to break system before it breaks so you can use it on a replacement.

    What a joke lol

    Out there and back

I've got a 32 GB Wii U, bought it on launch.
It can be buggy, but it recently got updates to decrease loading times/repair bugs.

All in all it's a solid system. The games for it are pretty limited at the moment. (And I can't imagine many more being made)
I've always had issues with the eShop. Nintendo really needs to fix this. Seriously.

They have the power to allow you to keep your account. Why they don't assist you, I have no clue.

I'm a game designer, i'm buying a WiiU Development kit pretty soon to work on making a few eShop available game titles, myself.

Nintendo's focusing more on their handheld games than the console games. There's a new Pokemon Fighting Game being made. The idea's pretty promising.

Pretty promising maybe but It would suck if you owned every game you bought digitally and needed to re download.

I would like to see zelda before anything else, and it sure as hell looks like there is no dlc for zombies!!! That would have been really funny lol

Wait nearly a year for dlc to come out,buy it then lose it haha!!

I would have been just a tad annoyed at that! So they did me a favour on that front lol

It wasnt the system,it was the gamepad that broke.

So unless you could be psychic and deactivate your account before the pad broke you lose all your online stats....

    Nevermind the digital downloads.

That is directly from nintendo uk by the way....

    Three small consolations....

1 - I bought hard copies of everything
    2 - I got a brand new console
3 - I can use the same email address to make a new ID lmao (joke)

They probably didnt assist me because I got a replacement console, they were prepared to retrieve my purchases if I got my hands on the broken one and sent it to them, but I would rather just cut losses and take the new console and gamepad.

    Out there and back

I hastily bought one last Christmas after seeing some gameplay of Nintendoland.

Honestly, that game is the absolutely best multiplayer experience I've ever had. Have you guys tried it? Having a touchscreen really adds a lot to the dynamics of the game. I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who is considering getting it.

Pikmin 3 is also awesome, but I found that there was pretty much no replay value after completing it, which sucks. I recently got Rayman Legends which has kept my whole house occupied for the last week. Having a fifth player using the gamepad is really unique - I admire Nintendo for focusing on keeping couch co-op alive since many games just opt for online multiplayer now.

It's true that there just aren't enough games out there for it. It is such a shame because I dig the console so much. In it's defence, the line-up coming out soon should do it some justice.

    It's a dirty job...

Do you have it? I found the multiplayer for COD games on the Wii a bit hit and miss. Maybe it was just because people blamed the alternative controls every time they missed...

I have one. I only use it though when a new Mario game comes out, or a classic gets a rerelease (like Earthbound, which I finally beat).
