what they may be using eg vst, synths effects etc. I think its a great remix and really admire their work.

I dont think the vst's matter. The bassline you can do in something like Sylenth1. Theres a lot of side chaining being used as well. Vocals have been chopped up...some samples have been used...the rest you can achieve in any daw...

nahhh ive heard very similar bass saounds in sylenth, and defo in nexus 2, if anythings, its been slightly chopped, wikked track tho,, love it,, done very well.
