cheers buddy il give it a go
i use Native instruments MASSIVE but also Operator on ABLETON.
Sub bass is a sine wave... I say pick something that doesn't really eat any cpu lol
I do my Sub bass with NI Massive, but if you want add some modulation, the better way it's to put an LFO on the volume. If you try with the LP it's sound so bad.
There is also a plugin on Windows. I think it's just Sub but it's not really good.
If you are using FL, load up 3xOsc, turn the "CRS" knobs all the way to the left and you are done.
I'd go with Massive as well
you all use Massive for a sub bass? seriously?
jesus even the free synthesisers that come bundled with most DAW's are capable of creating a sub bass sine wave...
Very Happy with Spectrasonics - Trilian or Rob Papen - Sub Boom Bass. Also your DAW should have a great Bass Synth included. Just spend a bit of time playing with what you have got.
Native Instruments - Massive if you like Dub Step sounds.
for basses i use only Trillian... is great!
sub bass is pretty easy to make. just choose a sine wave on any VST and go down some keys :)
I agree with Licas, sub is something that you easily create. Use just a sine, edit ADSR as you wish. I wouldn't use any other's sub, only my own.
I sometimes use FM8, but Operator in Ableton gets the job done.
use a low octive on 3cOsc with some eq sounds nice
I use subboombass and i like it a lot Trillian is great also go to http://www.robpapen.com/subboombass.html and they have a free demo of it for man and PC. :)

yes massive all the way. there are lots of great youtube tutorials for making awesome subbasses in massive.
It's easy to just stick to the rule of using a sine wave, but if you want to add a little more to it, you can use something like u-He's DIVA and use a triangle wave. It's a little fatter and sounds a lot bigger than a typical sine sub, and breathes a little more life into the bassline.
Am I the only person using Sylenth? Low enough sine octave sounds fine to me...
I actually love Sylenth. Massive is my runner up tho.
I use fm8 for my sub basses, add a little bit of feedback, crank the voicing, then compress it and roll it off at about 1khz. Also pitch bend automation is important too, if you have a hectic growl with some crazy pitch, you want your sub to copy it exactly. before you bounce it to audio (im talking from an ableton uses point of view) export the MIDI clip because it also exports the pitch automation in the envelope, then when it comes to adding your sub bass pitch automation it makes your life a hell of a lot easier.. hope that helped
Well I personally use TAL Noizemaker, it's free and simple to make a nice sub-bass.
It even has an inline envelope editor to spice it up some.
Literally any synth that allows you to make a sine wave.
I typically use TAL Noizemaker.
Add some white noise to level out the bass, one sine wave and you're good to go!
P.S I personally think Razor beats Massive when it comes to dubstep, that is if you're not too lazy to automate on your own.

You can create the sub with any synth, personally I use Albino, as for modulating I find a good way is to send all the bass layers to a group then use a modulation plugin such as volume/filter shaper (there are loads) to modulate it all together, saves messing around with each individual synth :)
For sub's i use either trillian or FM8, although I've gotten into serum lately and that thing is pretty cool..
